The Art Of Pivoting.

Hi friends,

If you’re a part of my email list then you probably know what this blog is going to be about just based off the title. If you’re not a part of my email list, I shared this news with them first so make sure you sign up!

Pivot.

If you are a fan of the TV show FRIENDS then that one word will make you laugh. That is the word I’ve been using to describe my life lately haha. If you’ve been reading my blogs for a while then you know I love to pick a word for the upcoming year. Around this time of year is when I start praying on it. My word for 2023 was Change. I’m starting to think pivot is either gonna be my word for 2024 or it’s just another term for change. One of the definitions of pivot is to to adapt or improve by adjusting or modifying something.

So, that brings me to why I’m writing this. In December of 2022 I recorded 3 songs at The Planetarium in Nashville with some amazing musicians. Spring of 2023 I recorded 3 more songs with my producer, Keith Harris, in his home studio. I started planning this release in March. I wrote out all my emails, planned all my posts, and tried to schedule some music videos. I picked which songs I wanted to release as singles leading up to my Best Years EP releasing on October 27th. Have you ever heard that saying man makes plans and God laughs? I’ve given him a good giggle lately that’s for sure haha.

The truth of the matter is I can plan all I want but ultimately I have no control over anything. Is planning a bad thing? Not at all, but I’ve learned I need to hold on to my plans loosely because God always has something better.

Due to circumstances out of my control and some really valuable advice I received from someone in the music industry here in Nashville, I’ve decided to push back my Best Years EP release until the new year.

I’m so bummed about it but I’m trusting God’s plan.

The good news is my new plan allows me more time to film music videos, create more content, and get to work on the next thing! In the new year I’ll be releasing each song one at a time until it’s all out in one EP, with maybe a bonus song or special edition copy.

I hope you guys understand and in the meantime will keep supporting Mountain Honey by streaming it and sharing it on Instagram Stories/Reels and TikTok! One way you could support me is by following my Artist Page on Spotify. Once I have 1,000 followers on there I can utilize the marketing tools that would help get these songs out there. Another way you can support is by following me on TikTok. When I get to 1,000 followers on there I can go live on TikTok and get more people to join the Carson Hill Music family!

Until then, I’m putting the final touches on my music video for Mountain Honey! I’m not leaving you guys hanging for long…

I love you all so much. It’s a privilege to get to do music so thank you for showing up and encouraging me.

It’s a hard journey some days but I’m excited about what the future holds. NEW MUSIC IS COMING SOON. I promise.

All my love,

xx Carson
